The Everest Team was thrilled to be a sponsor and participate in the Gingerbread Run – Valentine’s Day Edition at the Give Kids the World Village on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023. 

Give Kids the World Village is an 89-acre nonprofit resort in Kissimmee, FL. dedicated to providing week-long, cost-free vacations to critically ill children and their families from all over the world. 

The Gingerbread Run – Valentine’s Day Edition invited people of all ages to “run, roll, or stroll” a 5K or fun run through the whimsical resort as a fundraiser for the Village to continue to provide wish vacations. The participants, both in-person and virtual, raised more than $185,000 in total. 

“We’re so grateful we had the opportunity to join in and help the Village with such an important mission,” Gilbert Ramirez Jr., marketing manager at Everest, said. “We are proud and honored to support this beautiful community.” 

This event was the most recent of the Everest Cares initiative, a branch of the company created in November 2021 that is dedicated to giving back to the community. Since its implementation, the initiative has allowed Everest to donate gift cards and food baskets to several families from multiple low-income schools in the region, in addition to donating thousands of dollars to the UCP of Central Florida – an education, therapy, and support program for children with disabilities.
