Everest is on the Gator100

GAINESVILLE, April 22, 2022 – The University of Florida has ranked Everest Ice and Water Systems as No. 44 in the 100 fastest growing businesses in the world led or owned by UF alumni in the Gator100 awards. This annual award recognizes and celebrates the achievements of businesses led by “Gators in the pursuit of Going Greater,” inspiring both current and future alumni in addition to presenting beneficial networking opportunities.

“We’re so proud to be honored on this year’s Gator100 list,” says Dan Doromal, Director of Operations and Service at Everest Ice and Water Systems, and also a University of Florida alum. “At Everest, we are a strong and dedicated team working hard to engineer the best, most efficient equipment for our customers.”

Everest’s growth is illustrated in a number of ways, perhaps most notably through selling more machines in the final two months of 2021 than all of 2020 combined, officially exceeding their annual sales goal by 149%. They also ranked no. 2024 on the 2021 Inc. 5000 list of the country’s fastest-growing private companies. Furthermore, they were named one of the hottest and fastest-growing companies in the country in the 2021 Pros to Know Awards, and most recently, they are a recipient of the 2022 Fire Awards recognizing the most innovative companies making a big impact across the Orlando area.

The 2022 Gator100 celebrated companies from over 17 industries during the ceremony on April 22 in the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center on UF’s campus. The top three represented industries were construction and design, health, and consumer products and services. Of the 100 honorees, 75 were Florida companies with other top state headquarters including Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia.

“The Gator100 shines a bright light on the contributions of UF alumni-owned or -led companies. These are the companies that create jobs, that add value to our communities, and that make an impact around the world,” said Brian Danforth, Assistant Vice President of Development and Executive Director of the UF Alumni Association. “We proudly celebrate our 2022 honorees, the very best of our Gator entrepreneurs and business leaders who have shown the grit and determination we all expect from Gators.”

The eligibility criteria for the honorees of the Gator100 awards include being in business for at least five years, with an annual revenue of $250,000 or more for each year, as well as being owned or led by a UF alum. Ernst & Young, independent accounting firm of the Gator100 since the program began in 2015, verifies financial information submitted by each company and calculates the rankings based on compound annual growth rate over the past three years.
